Job Summary

Whitman College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Financial Aid Services to join our team. As a key leader in our Financial Aid Services team, you will serve as the back-up to the Director and assist with the processing and administering of financial aid for incoming and returning students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with students and families to provide financial aid counseling and support.
  • Work closely with the Office of Admission to ensure the strategic use of financial aid to achieve enrollment goals.
  • Liaise with Whitman College Technology Services and Admission staff to ensure effective use of technology to ensure accurate and efficient processes.
  • Manage the administration of the Federal Direct Loan program and Washington State grant programs.
  • Supervise 1-2 student employees in the Financial Aid Office.
  • Participate in Whitman working groups, hiring committees, and teams as needed.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in financial aid or higher education, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and financial aid training.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent office and computer technology skills.
  • Support the institution in working with a diverse student body and advancing inclusive excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Financial aid experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Local to the Walla Walla region or willingness to relocate to the area.
