Auto Glass Technician Trainer – Job Overview

Title: Auto Glass Technician Trainer

Reports To: Branch Manager

The primary responsibility of the Auto Glass Technician Trainer is to deliver comprehensive training and mentorship to both novice and seasoned auto technicians. This role involves conducting thorough training sessions focused on the replacement and repair of damaged windshields and window glass in vehicles and equipment. Utilizing appropriate tools and techniques, the trainer ensures high-quality installations while adhering to all safety policies and procedural guidelines established by Fix Network World. The Auto Glass Technician Trainer will impart knowledge and skills necessary for executing Auto Glass Replacements, Auto Glass Repairs, and safety glass installations, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Additional responsibilities include promoting the highest standards of quality to foster the development of well-informed and confident Auto Glass Technicians.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate training sessions for both new and experienced technicians, ensuring a solid grasp of auto glass repair and replacement methodologies.
  • Assess trainee progress and identify areas requiring additional support and instruction.
  • Provide constructive feedback to trainees, emphasizing areas needing further development.
  • Stay informed about advancements in the auto glass sector.
  • Replace all moldings, clips, windshield wipers, and any components removed during glass replacement or repair.
  • Cut flat safety glass according to specified patterns or create precision patterns for custom-fit replacement glass.
  • Adjust or replace motorized or manual window raising mechanisms as necessary.
  • Recalibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) following windshield replacements as required.
  • Conduct Post-Inspection after Recalibration as necessary.
  • Submit all documentation and photographic evidence to the Branch following Recalibration.
  • Ensure the customer's vehicle or equipment is presented in excellent condition post-glass installation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Auto Technician
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
  • Excellent driving record and a valid driver's license
