Job Summary

The Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in assessing patient/family health problems and resources, and takes a leadership position in planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing plan of care provided by the nursing team. This RN is responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing care to all assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process. The Float Pool RN directs and supervises assigned personnel delivering patient care and administers/performs specialized nursing care according to assigned unit and treatments ordered for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient/family health problems and resources, and develop a comprehensive nursing plan of care.
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to all assigned patients, utilizing the nursing process.
  • Direct and supervise assigned personnel delivering patient care.
  • Administer/performs specialized nursing care according to assigned unit and treatments ordered for patients.
Requirements
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills; English required, bilingual (English/Spanish; English/French) preferred.
  • Emergency Department or ICU Training required.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing practice that includes sufficient clinical and leadership experience to ensure competence; additional years of experience as required by specialty areas.
  • Knowledgeable of TJC standards.
Licenses, Registrations or Certifications
  • Current Louisiana RN License.
  • Current BLS/ACLS.
  • De-Escalation Certification.
  • National Certification in Clinical Specialty, preferred.
Work Schedule and Type

7pm-7am.

Full Time.
