Position Overview:

The primary role of the Radiation Therapist is to administer accurate radiation therapy treatments, maintain comprehensive treatment documentation, and oversee patient care throughout the radiation therapy journey.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Delivers safe and precise radiation therapy treatments.
  • Ensures the accuracy of treatment delivery and data recording, showcasing strong clinical judgment.
  • Prepares necessary setup aids and ensures the treatment area and equipment are ready for patient use.
  • Keeps detailed treatment and simulation records, making adjustments to treatment parameters as required.
  • Observes patients for any reactions or events, promptly reporting findings to the radiation oncologist.
  • Communicates treatment procedures to patients, addressing their inquiries and providing care guidance.
  • Engages in Quality Assurance activities, ensuring compliance with departmental quality standards.
  • Monitors treatment records and equipment, making necessary adjustments.
  • Completes essential quality control tasks and documentation.
  • Maintains clinical skill competency to support effective treatment delivery.
  • Participates in educational and training initiatives for practitioners and students.
  • Follows departmental protocols and institutional policies diligently.
  • Effectively manages resources and collaborates with the team to achieve operational goals.
  • Exhibits enthusiasm, initiative, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be a graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program in Radiation Therapy or an equivalent program.

Certification/Licensure: Must hold certification and registration in Radiation Therapy by ARRT and possess a Medical Radiologic Technologist license by TMB.
