Overview of the Role.

This senior associate position is designed to oversee tax engagements and facilitate the annual tax compliance efforts in collaboration with our clients and our Big 4 outsourced tax advisor. You will be responsible for managing the production calendar of tax deliverables, addressing information requests, and serving as a liaison with various departments within the organization as necessary.

Key Responsibilities.

As a Senior Associate in the Alternative Investment Solutions - Tax division, your duties will include:

  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of tax compliance processes for hedge funds and private equity funds.
  • Overseeing the workflow of tax engagements for State Street clients and our external tax service provider.
  • Participating in the oversight of the outsourcing provider and escalating any issues to management as they arise.
  • Engaging in tax planning and production cycle meetings.
  • Managing documentation requests and acting as a liaison between the tax firm and clients to fulfill information needs.
  • Ensuring timely and secure delivery of client tax documents.
  • Addressing client inquiries and coordinating with relevant parties to provide resolutions.
  • Handling ad hoc projects as required.

Skills and Qualifications.

To excel in this role, the following skills are essential:

  • Strong client communication and management skills, along with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in managing or participating in tax engagements for hedge and private equity funds.
  • Technical knowledge of tax regulations related to alternative investments.

Educational Background.

  • A college degree with a concentration in tax or accounting is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a CPA firm or as an administrator.

Salary Range:

$52,000 - $75,400 Annual

The range quoted applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate works outside of the primary location, the applicable range may differ.
