Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $32,500 to $52,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for greeting customers in a helpful manner and supporting store design walk-in needs. You will schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store. Additionally, you will provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects. Your primary objective will be to design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions that meet the specific needs and preferences of your clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet store customers in a helpful manner and supports store design walk-in needs
  • Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store
  • Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects
  • Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
  • Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up including consistent and concise communication to customers and others

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
  • Degree in Design is a plus
  • Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
  • Proficient in basic mathematical skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Working Conditions

This role requires limited travel by car. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.
