As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing assistance to the department Nurse Manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services of the unit.

About the Unit:

The Cardiovascular Care Unit (CVCU) at Baptist Health Floyd is a modern unit providing expert cardiac care with an innovative model of care called the universal bed concept. Our team leverages their clinical expertise to care for cardiac patients on all levels, from pre-operative teaching to open-heart recovery, to cardiac ICU care, and to discharge teaching.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to support quality initiatives and performance improvement activities.
  • Provide assistance to the department Nurse Manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services of the unit.
  • Care for cardiac patients on all levels, from pre-operative teaching to open-heart recovery, to cardiac ICU care, and to discharge teaching.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved nursing program with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
  • ACLS Certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • NIHSS Stroke Certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
  • At least one (1) year of nursing experience required.
  • Experience as a Charge Nurse or Supervisor preferred.
  • Quality Improvement/Data Analysis experience preferred.
