About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. This is a full-time position working in our operating room, assisting surgeons during neurosurgery procedures.

Job Summary

This role requires a high level of expertise and knowledge in surgical techniques and patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting the surgical team throughout the procedure.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Function as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures.
  • Verify functioning and adequate availability of supplies/instruments/equipment prior to the surgical procedure.
  • Ensure safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Graduate degree from a Surgical Technologist Program.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • At least 2+ years of experience in neuro-specific surgeries, including craniotomy-tumor and neuro spine.
