Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Sales Representative to join our sales team in our Chicago-land office. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for full cycle sales, from procuring and maintaining clients to providing in-depth analysis of needs, submitting estimates, obtaining orders, and following through.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and cultivate a qualified client base through various marketing practices, including entertainment, direct mail, referrals, advertising, trade shows, cold calls, and other promotional activities.
  • Solicit and establish customer needs, negotiate price and terms within company policy, and take and submit orders for services.
  • Develop expertise and knowledge of estimating, prepare estimates for managing purposes, and consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to assist in the preparation of time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for all phases of projects.
  • Consult with and respond to inquiries from customers and subcontractors regarding areas of expertise, respond to customer concerns in a timely manner, and oversee, monitor, and audit assigned job sites for quality control.
  • Confere with Project Manager and VP as needed to clarify information required for contract plan review, participate in training assigned sales staff, and participate actively in professional and trade organizations.
  • Develop, submit, implement, manage, and report on sales goals and business development plans in accordance with company policies and systems, maintain product knowledge of existing and new product services, and gather and forward information on competitor activities.
  • Assist in collections from delinquent accounts and maintain close, positive working relationships with field and administrative departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Construction Management.
  • A minimum of five years in direct sales, not telemarketing or inside sales.
  • Understanding of reading and estimating from blueprints.
  • Knowledgeable in and proven abilities with estimating in a paving, landscaping, or construction type environment viewed as a plus.
  • Excellent math and geometry skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
