Job Title: Estates Planning Legal Assistant

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

Salary: $85,000 to $120,000 per year annually, along with Paid Time Off, Paid Sick Time and Holidays, Healthcare, Dental and Vision Coverage, 401k

Position Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire, 2-3 Days Onsite

LHH is seeking a highly experienced Estates Planning Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team in San Francisco. This is a hybrid role offering the flexibility to work remotely while maintaining a presence in our San Francisco office as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents related to estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives.
  • Coordinate and manage estate planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant client information to assist attorneys in formulating estate planning strategies.
  • Prepare and organize trust administration documents, including trust accountings, trust funding schedules, and beneficiary communications.
  • Assist with probate filings and court submissions.
  • Maintain and update client files, ensuring the confidentiality and accuracy of all records.
  • Communicate directly with clients, beneficiaries, and financial institutions to gather necessary information or provide updates on estate planning matters.
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and hearings for attorneys, and coordinate the signing of legal documents.
  • Manage attorney calendars and deadlines, ensuring timely completion of filings and tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant, specifically in estate planning or probate.
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning principles, probate procedures, and trust administration.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and estate planning software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
