Job Summary

The Webmaster is responsible for managing all aspects of the university website and Intranet, including content maintenance, technical administration, and ensuring the website's availability to the University community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage information contributed to webpages, establishing template formats and logical structures as needed.
  • Assist content managers with webpage development, including one-on-one counseling and group workshops.
  • Monitor and analyze webpages for broken links, content errors, and outdated content.
  • Stay up-to-date with current technology and incorporate new ideas to keep the content management system (CMS) current.
  • Provide technical support for the website and serve as a liaison to the hosting company.
  • Participate in web planning and development projects, assisting in developing operational controls and procedures.
  • Provide analytical support for information sharing policies and procedures.
  • Maintain consistency and professionalism across the KSU website.
  • Identify training needs and deliver ongoing training for content managers and website users.
  • Evaluate website software and hardware to ensure continued effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of established programming procedures and languages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of integrated web site structuring and design principles.
  • Ability to provide website training and develop strategic plans.
  • Knowledge of current web site software and hardware alternatives.
  • Ability to develop and implement short- and long-range goals.
  • Advanced knowledge of authoring languages, editing tools, and related web site technologies.
  • Intermediate graphic design and editing skills.
  • Solid experience with social media and mobile web technologies.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and effectively multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with good judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
