We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Specialist to join our team at ABO HOLDINGS, Inc. as a Plasmapheresis Donor Screener. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the suitability of plasmapheresis donors by conducting thorough medical evaluations and adhering to strict guidelines and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations of donors to assess suitability for plasmapheresis
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, state guidelines, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and company policies
- Perform history and physical exams on donors, including repeat exams as necessary
- Explain the plasmapheresis process and obtain signed consent from donors
- Evaluate donor reactions and initiate appropriate therapy as needed
- Collaborate with the medical director to ensure donor safety and product integrity
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives to monitor employee performance and ensure adherence to procedures
- Graduate of a recognized educational program and currently licensed in the state of employment
- EMT basic or above certification (for Physician Substitute - EMT)
- RN or Licensed Physician Assistant certification (for Physician Substitute - RN)
- LVN/LPN certification (for Physician Substitute - LVN/LPN)
- Proficient in computer entry and proficient in English (read, write, speak)
- Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other conditions common to a donor center. Personal protective equipment is required, including eyewear, lab coats, and gloves.
