Job Title: Controls/Building Automation Service Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls/Building Automation Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, replacement, and technical support for Commercial Controls Building Automation Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, replacement, and technical support for Commercial Controls Building Automation Systems
  • Understand control system design, sequence of operations, and controls schematic drawings
  • Properly complete all required project and service documentation accurately and on time
  • Diagnose system performance through observation, testing, and setup as required by trade/position
  • Perform planned maintenance and inspections as indicated in the service agreement
  • Proficiently operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment
  • Complete service contracts, quoted service projects, and demand service calls as directed
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers and explain work performed to the customer's satisfaction
  • Participate in technician on-call-stand-by rotation as dictated by business unit policies and procedures
  • Complete documentation of invoicing data based on hours worked and materials/equipment used to complete the service
  • Safely drive a motor vehicle and trailer, follow requirements of company vehicle driving policy, and adhere to all company safety requirements
  • Purchase materials and issue purchase order numbers to suppliers
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of building automation & controls experience
  • Experience with programming and controls database management
  • Fundamentals of A/C electrical circuits and low voltage D/C electrical circuits and operation
  • Hands-on experience with one or more controls platforms (Siemens, Distech, JCI, Inet, etc.)
  • General controls, installations, troubleshooting, and repair experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets
  • Ability to use testing and metering devices
  • Familiar with Windows operating systems and software
  • Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability
  • Demonstrates strong business ethics at all times
