The Charge Registered Nurse is a registered nurse professional who assumes responsibility for the direction and coordination of all day-to-day functions in the unit on their designated shifts.
Responsibilities- The Charge Nurse oversees the supervision of assigned nursing and unit-based personnel to provide a safe, caring environment for patients, family, and staff.
- This individual collaborates with other members of the management team to assess the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.
- They assist the Nursing Manager/Director in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring policies and procedures, allocation of resources, quality/performance improvement initiatives, educational programs, and shared governance councils.
- The Charge Nurse also provides direct nursing care as needed.
- A graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- A current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse.
- CPR certification and ACLS within six months of hire.
