Objective:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, communicates, and enforces effective processes within the Service Department to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in formulating and executing the Service Department marketing strategy, monitoring progress monthly to meet departmental objectives.
  • Organizes customer engagement events and promotional activities.
  • Tracks service warranty and Product Improvement Program deadlines to maximize credit opportunities.
  • Allocates tasks and workspaces to Service Department staff based on their expertise and capabilities.
  • Reviews service orders for thoroughness and accuracy before billing customers, ensuring timely closure of work orders.
  • Ensures that all tools, equipment, and vehicles used in the department are well-maintained and operational.
  • Oversees recruitment, staffing, and development initiatives for team members under this role.
  • Participates in the service EDUCATE training program to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Engages with local educational institutions by participating in at least one career day or experience annually.
  • Attracts, retains, and effectively engages personnel within the department.
  • Addresses and resolves employee and inter-departmental concerns in a fair and prompt manner.
  • Maintains a safe working environment, demonstrating knowledge of and adherence to all safety regulations during work tasks.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Service Department operations.
  • Proficient in standard desktop applications, including Microsoft Office and internet functionalities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interactions with individuals and groups.
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competing products.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles related to Service Department operations.
  • Adept at analyzing and interpreting internal reports.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Frequent bending and stooping.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with climbing and using ladders.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or skid loader.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
