Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Generator Service Technician to provide maintenance, repair, and service on industrial power generation equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel and natural gas engines, electrical switchgear, and automatic transfer switches.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on generators, including inspections, troubleshooting, and start-up load bank testing
  • Troubleshoot and repair generator components, including engines, alternators, controllers, wiring harnesses, safety devices, battery systems, and cooling systems
  • Start-up and load bank test equipment
  • Apply technical skills to identify problems and causes of failure through logical troubleshooting steps and determine corrective action
  • Repair and troubleshoot engines from various manufacturers, including Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, MTU, and Volvo

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Clear criminal and driving records
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working with industrial power generation sets or similar transferrable skills
  • Experience with diesel and natural gas engines, electrical switchgear, and automatic transfer switches
  • Must have own set of general tools
  • Use of computers/mobile devices for web-based service and work order system
  • Must be physically able to lift 75lbs with no restrictions
