We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist dentists and hygienists in providing patient care, including preparing patients for exams and procedures, taking x-rays, and sterilizing equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and billing information.
- Prepare and dispense dental materials, such as impression trays, gloves, and suction tips.
- Assist with dental procedures, including fillings, extractions, and crowns.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in dental assisting or a related field preferred.
- Current certification in dental assisting, such as the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), required.
- At least 1 year of experience as a dental assistant, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, dentists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
This is a full-time position, with a regular schedule of 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, with frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious materials.
