Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Green Tree School & Services. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in the success of our students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, serious Emotional Disturbance, or Development Delays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Management: Effectively supervise class structure and schedule, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Student Supervision: Maintain ongoing supervision and evaluation of all students, providing timely and constructive feedback to collaborating personnel and participating in follow-up planning.
  • Documentation and Progress Monitoring: Maintain documentation and vigilance of student goals and objectives, monitoring progress and reporting successes.
  • Behavior Support: Monitor and support implementation of prescribed behavior programs, ensuring the well-being and safety of students.
  • Transitions and Routines: Effectively supervise bus transitions, meals, recess, and other non-academic responsibilities, promoting a smooth and efficient daily routine.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Participate actively in staff discussions, collaborate through communication in established team meetings, and maintain open lines of communication with colleagues and parents.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Implement and evaluate the success of prescribed curriculum and quality instructional techniques, ensuring alignment with state standards and IEP goals.
  • Professional Development: Participate in planning and implementation of quality in-services, staying up-to-date with best practices and emerging trends in special education.
  • Leadership and Social Responsibility: Promote social responsibility and leadership among support staff and students, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
