About ATE:
ATE is a worldwide engineering entity responsible for the conception, development, and upkeep of manufacturing test solutions that support the $5B Avionics strategic business unit and external clients, including military services and airlines, both domestically and internationally. As a pivotal member of the Avionics Test Engineering leadership team, the Senior Project Engineer guarantees the effective execution of testing solution projects from initiation through deployment and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the technical execution of projects and uphold performance metrics for informed decision-making within an Agile project management framework.
- Employ Agile methodologies to oversee projects and produce metrics for presentations, forecasting future performance.
- Manage project scope, including requirements and change requests, ensuring alignment with agreed commitments.
- Create and sustain project timelines, acknowledging dependencies, deliverables, and critical paths.
- Utilize Earned Value (EV) techniques for project budget and schedule management.
- Ensure projects meet established quality standards.
- Identify and address risks and opportunities through proactive management.
- Craft comprehensive presentations to communicate project status to leadership teams.
- Develop engineering estimates and proposals for prospective projects, securing organizational approval.
- Minimum of 5 years of technical expertise in at least one engineering discipline: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software.
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing client relationships.
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Strong leadership capabilities and practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective client relationships.
- Exceptional oral, written, and formal presentation skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
- Resilience in challenging situations.
- Proficiency in project scheduling using Microsoft Project.
- Comfort in managing projects with complex requirements.
- Understanding of Earned Value management principles.
- Experience in Risk and Opportunity management.
