Key Responsibilities

Job Summary

This role is responsible for conducting specialized interventional diagnostic and therapeutic assessments of the cardiovascular system under the supervision of a licensed physician, utilizing radiologic imaging to guide procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to: (1) reviewing and documenting relevant patient history and clinical data; (2) preparing patients for examinations; (3) employing C-arms, fluoroscopy, and tomography to perform assessments and gather data for provider interpretation; (4) participating in cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures.

Incumbents are also expected to stay informed about organizational standards, protocols, and procedures relevant to the department; maintain current skills; and demonstrate ongoing education through departmental meetings and personalized learning opportunities.

Cardiovascular Tech Non-Registered is a temporary classification for individuals who have completed an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program but are awaiting their Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification at the time of hire. Employees have a designated period from their start date to secure the necessary registration.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare equipment and examination rooms to capture accurate images as directed by physicians and in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Provide patient care across all age groups while conducting examinations and procedures.
  • Maintain records and logs as mandated by departmental protocols and licensure requirements.
  • Perform general office duties as needed, including answering phones and managing inventory.
  • Assist in the inventory and stocking of medical equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiological Technology program, with one year of relevant work experience, which may be acquired through practical education or training; OR
  • Graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program.
Licensure and Certification
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and a valid license to practice in the state.
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification and State Certification.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
  • ACLS certification is required.
  • Cardiovascular Technologist Certification: Must possess RCIS certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Cardiovascular Technologist Non-Registered: Individuals without RCIS certification (but who meet the core job qualifications) must be classified at this level and are required to obtain certification within six months of hire.
