About the Job

RHI Magnesita is seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team. This role will be based out of Lexington, NC or surrounding areas and will involve 75%+ onsite work, with occasional visits to surrounding customers, team meetings, and necessary training seminars.

The successful candidate will be responsible for equipment maintenance, product installation, and ensuring that company products are being utilized/installed appropriately in accordance with prescribed guidelines. This role will also work to improve sales turnover, support inventory management, identify problems (troubleshooting), and address concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to proper safety requirements by client, and use of appropriate PPE at all customer sites.
  • Provide service type functions, which will involve product installation support and machine maintenance.
  • Provide assistance and have general trouble shooting ability with machinery/equipment.
  • Daily customer interface related to product sales and performance, along with understanding customer expectations of performance.
  • Data tracking related to RHIM products, and competitor product performance.
  • Assisting with inventory management functions.
  • Daily communication with Superior regarding all customer developments: Threats, Potentials, Concerns. Identify and relay information to Superior pertaining to performance of products, operational changes, review of competitor products and performance, application potentials, and general audit of customer. Report on quality issues and address problems.
  • Submit expenditures on a weekly basis. Expenditure development should be conducted with the most cost-effective approach in mind.
  • Electronic communication should be checked every business day. Calls should be returned within that business day.
  • Ability to be able to travel to different locations in Virginia, NC, and SC territory; 1-2 hours typical travel but up to 4-5 hours if needed. Occasional travel for gate and equipment training will also be required.
  • Ability to respond to afterhours urgent or emergency needs of the customer.
  • Ability to stay overnight occasionally.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of refractory installation or steel mill or foundry experience preferred
  • Safety focused. Familiarity with heavy industrial environments and related safety standards
  • Mechanical aptitude, experience problem solving machinery, and being able to provide preventative maintenance and fix large machines when needed
  • Exceptional customer service skills both internally and externally
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products, specifically basic Excel skills - data entry / reports / create basic spreadsheets, One Note, Teams, Outlook, and some Word
  • Ability to learn inventory control processes and standards
  • Independent worker and self-motivated, who contributes to the overall team objectives
  • Hands on, forward thinking, and improvement/results driven
  • Works effectively and collaboratively, including clear written and verbal communications
