Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate physical therapy services for patients, working collaboratively with healthcare teams to achieve optimal results. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to address patient needs and goals.
  • Implement and evaluate physical therapy interventions, including exercises, modalities, and education, to promote patient progress and independence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and coordination.
  • Document patient progress and treatment plans in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to Northern Light Health standards and regulations.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting self-management and empowerment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in physical therapy.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Maine.
  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of physical therapy principles, practices, and modalities, as well as current trends and research in the field.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent travel to patient homes and occasional exposure to hazardous materials. The Physical Therapist must be able to lift, move, and load 30 to 50 pounds, as well as work beyond regularly scheduled hours as needed.
