We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of rehabilitation professionals.

About the Role

As a Speech Language Pathologist at UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital, you will be responsible for assessing patients' communication and swallowing disorders, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to promote maximum benefits of care and achieve rehabilitation goals.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patients' needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to promote maximum benefits of care
  • Participate in performance improvement and program development activities
  • Contribute to budgetary planning and cost-effectiveness of services and programs
  • Assess educational needs of patients, families, and caregivers and provide education to meet those needs
  • Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff
  • Utilize leadership skills to delegate, organize, and educate coworkers and staff
  • Participate in quality improvement processes for the department and institution
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or similarly titled area
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY)
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in state
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR card
