Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Cook and Prep Team Member to join our team at Applebees. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for completing all assigned prep work, maintaining product presentations, and preparing menu items according to Applebees Recipes and specifications.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Prepares all menu items according to Applebees Recipes, Plate Presentations, and specifications.
2. Completes all assigned prep work, including setting up the cook's station and maintaining the workstation according to the station diagram.
3. Practices sanitary and safe food handling at all times, sanitizing the work area before, during, and after shift.
4. Completes assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements:
1. Reading, writing, and verbal communication skills are required for effective communication with employees, dining room staff, and guests.
2. Ability to lift pots, pans, and equipment up to 40 pounds in weight, and to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an entire shift.
3. Capable of using knives, slicing equipment, and other food preparation equipment, as well as transporting cases up to 50 pounds.
Physical Demands:
Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to employees, dining room staff, and guests, and to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others.
