Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director of Legal and Compliance to join our team. As a key member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal guidance and support to our business operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as developing and implementing effective risk management strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel and support to our executive leadership team on various matters, including commercial agreements, data privacy, and employment law.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with our revenue, partnerships, and finance teams to navigate complex commercial transactions and ensure alignment with our business objectives.
  • Manage external counsel relationships and provide guidance on data privacy and protection issues.
  • Advise on employment-related matters, including HR policies, employment agreements, and compliance with employment laws.
  • Collaborate with our product development team to ensure that our software solutions comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in a legal role, including 3+ years in-house at a high-growth technology company.
  • Experience providing tactical, day-to-day legal support while also having the ability to zoom out and think strategically.
  • Proficiency in commercial B2B SaaS transactions, including direct, channel partnerships, and strategic transactions.
  • Deep expertise in tech-related legal matters, including SaaS agreements and data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate the financial and regulatory impact of our business decisions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar.
