Lead Clinical Nurse ICU/IMCU Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Clinical Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Johns Hopkins Medicine. As a Lead Clinical Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating the total care for a group of patients throughout their stay, achieving clinical, financial, and organizational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate patient care and develop individualized plans of care
  • Mentor and manage clinical staff to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care
  • Assume responsibility for overall unit operations in the absence of the Nurse Manager
  • Apply evidence-based care and service excellence into practice

Requirements:

  • BSN required; enrollment into a BSN is required within 6 months of transition to the LCN role
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Maryland
  • Certification in clinical area of specialty preferred; if not current, will seek certification within two (2) years of hire
  • Certification in advanced life support specific to area of clinical specialty required (ACLS, PALS, or NRP)
  • At least three years of experience in the practice specialty is required
