Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Nurse to join our team at one of our facilities in Bellaire, MI. As a Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility policies and procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and aid physicians during treatments and examinations of residents.
  • Observe residents, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors, physicians, and family members of resident conditions and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Take temperatures, pulses, blood pressures, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of residents.
  • Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit to ensure resident needs are met in accordance with physician instructions, federal and state regulations, and facility procedures.
  • Consult with shift supervisors on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Report all complaints or unusual problems to supervisors. Assist with the completion of facility complaint reports.
  • Participate in orientation and training and evaluating of nursing personnel.
  • Evaluate nursing activities to ensure resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
  • Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit.
  • Observe nursing care and visit residents to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatment administered in accordance with physician instructions.
  • Assume responsibility and maintain records for unit narcotics.
  • Inspect resident rooms and the unit for cleanliness and comfort.
  • Responsible for documenting admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the care plan process, complete nursing assessments, and resident care plans accurately and timely for assigned residents.
  • Complete special projects and audits at the direction of the supervisor, CCC, or Director of Nursing.
  • Maintain all educational requirements for the State of Michigan to keep licenses current. Attend facility inservices and ward conferences as assigned.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect; know and comply with all Resident's Rights rules; and promptly report all resident accidents and injuries to charge nurses.
  • Must have regular attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Facility Information:

  • May be asked to serve in a Charge capacity.
  • No block schedule guaranteed.
  • Every other weekend required.
  • The facility address is across from the Humane Society, and the facility may occasionally have a canine support visitor. If the clinician is afraid of dogs, it may not be the best fit.

Requirement Description: Auto Offer

We require:

  • 2+ Years Experience - Required
  • Travel experience strongly encouraged
  • BLS (AHA or ARC) - Required
  • MI CNA License - Required
  • Covid Vaccine - Strongly encouraged -- (if declining, mandated to wear a mask) --
  • Ability to move up to 25 lbs. & frequently lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
  • Clinician MUST work the set schedule created by the Facility

Scheduling:

This position requires every other weekend along with 2 shifts during the week to make 36 hours per week. Block scheduling CANNOT be guaranteed. The client operates on a Sunday-Saturday schedule, so there may be scheduling on Sunday or Saturday + the two days during the week equating to 36 hrs/week. Timesheets are NOT to be signed by the Facility. Timesheets will be uploaded unsigned to TRIO for AHSA & Meadow Brook MCF review.

Certification Requirements: BLS (AHA)

State License Requirements: Michigan

Weekend Requirements: Every Other Weekend/Holiday Rotation
