Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Research Nurse to join our Heart Vascular Thoracic Institute team. As a Research Nurse, you will play a critical role in organizing the implementation and conduct of human research projects. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the implementation and conduct of research projects, ensuring adherence to research protocol requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between investigators, research personnel, and central research administration offices.
  • Utilize the nursing process as a basis for patient care, assessing research subjects and completing nursing assessments.
  • Establish a care plan in collaboration with the research subject, family, and research team, coordinating ongoing care and identifying discharge needs.
  • Perform telephone triage, nursing procedures, and treatments as directed by a physician or LIP.
  • Evaluate, initiate, and maintain standards of care consistent with CCHS policies and procedures.
  • Assist with specialized patient care equipment and administer medications and treatments as ordered by a physician or LIP.
  • Direct, coordinate, and participate in the evaluation and supervision of nursing care provided to research subjects.
  • Participate in education, research, and performance improvement activities, developing and maintaining knowledge of research protocols.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Cancer-specific certification or ongoing qualifying education within the timeframe of the facility's accreditation cycle.
