Speech Language Pathologist (PreK) Job Description

ExpertHiring is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students achieve their full potential in communication skills, which are essential for their academic success and social development.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques tailored to individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom setting and support generalization of skills.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy goals and approaches as needed.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing professional input regarding students' progress and recommendations for services.
  • Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development and strategies for supporting students in the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports in compliance with district and state guidelines.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology through professional development and continuing education.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Illinois state license in Speech-Language Pathology (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCCSLP) preferred.
  • Experience working in a school setting with children and adolescents preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language development, assessment tools, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Working Conditions:
