Position Overview:
High Point University Health is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic CARE Advocate who excels in fostering positive relationships with patients and colleagues. This role serves as the initial point of contact for patients, delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring the seamless operation of the dental practice.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not mandatory
Experience and Training:
- Background in customer service, ideally in a multitasking environment (e.g., scheduling appointments while managing phone inquiries)
- Experience in a dental or medical setting is advantageous
- Familiarity with electronic medical records is preferred
- EPIC training is a significant advantage, though not essential
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional approachability and receptiveness
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management abilities
- Punctual and reliable
- Positive demeanor
- Professional representation of High Point University Health

Key Responsibilities:
Daily Administrative Tasks:
- Verify add-ons, complete registration checklists, and print care slips for all patients
- Prepare for appointments at least three business days in advance, including:
- Completing pre-registration workqueue
- Reviewing dental eligibility forms for payment collections
- Preparing treatment and visit estimates
- Sending MyChart activation links
- Review the daily schedule and contact any deactivated MyChart patients before their appointment
- Generate and print Care Slip reports
Confirmation Worklists:
- Send one-week confirmation reminders
- Make daily appointment confirmation calls until confirmed or canceled due to non-confirmation 48 hours prior
Utilization of Workqueues and Reports:
- Review continuing treatment reports
- Manage appointment requests and follow-ups
- Update patient status for no-shows and assist providers in closing open encounters
Office Management:
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area
- Order office supplies as necessary
- Process invoices and maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with regulations
Customer Service:
- Welcome patients warmly
- Deliver exceptional service throughout all patient interactions
- Assist new patients with MyChart activation and medical histories
- Educate patients on office policies and services
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between education teams and the practice
- Collaborate with education teams to inform outlines and resources
