About the Role

The PET/CT Imaging Specialist is a critical member of our imaging center team, playing a vital role in the overall performance and efficiency of our operations. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, clinicians, educators, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients throughout the facility, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience.
  • Inject radiopharmaceuticals and scan patients using diagnostic imaging equipment, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and data thoroughness.
  • Verify completeness and integrity of scan orders from physicians' offices, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Process images and push them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), as well as archive and verify data daily.
  • Order radiopharmaceuticals and credit unused supplies daily, ensuring efficient inventory management.
  • Run quality control scanning equipment, facilitating repairs as necessary, and perform quality assurance on all equipment, maintaining logs and records.
  • Ensure scanning equipment is in good working order, facilitating repairs as needed, and obtain working knowledge of PET/CT imaging to educate physicians on best practices.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiencies and reduce costs, contributing to the overall success of our imaging center.
  • Accurately and legibly scan data into document imaging software, ensuring seamless charge-out processes.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential, as is contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ensure all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently met, and perform any other functions as required by management.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine.
  • Certified PET/CT Technologist certification (CNMT).
  • Must possess either the ARRT (N) or the NMTCB certification.
  • Current ACLS or BCLS certification.
  • Saturday availability is preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • CT experience.
  • Experience with Siemens PET/CT camera.
