Job Summary

VCU Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medicine Specialty Unit team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with complex medical and surgical diagnoses
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
  • Participate in patient education and discharge planning
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible for compact state
  • 1-3 years of experience in a medicine specialty unit
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with similar patient populations
  • Academic health care experience
  • Certification in a specialty area
