Payroll Specialist

Job Summary

Farm Credit East is a leading provider of loans and farm advisory services to farm, forest product, fishing, and other agricultural business owners across the northeast. We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing all aspects of the customer's payroll utilizing Payroll Relief Software, reviewing customer time sheets, and completing the payroll process that meets customer timelines. They will also verify and calculate hours worked, bonuses, and deductions such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments.

The Payroll Specialist will maintain customer payroll records, reconcile payroll discrepancies, and resolve errors. They will provide outstanding customer service, support, and instruction to maintain strong relationships with clients. Additionally, they will stay current with new and changes federal and state tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Process all aspects of the customer's payroll utilizing Payroll Relief Software
• Review customer time sheets and complete payroll process that meet customer timelines
• Verify and calculate hours worked, bonuses, and deductions such as taxes, benefits, and garnishments
• Maintain customer payroll records
• Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve errors
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Provide support and instruction to maintain strong relationships with clients
• Keep current with new and changes federal and state tax laws
• Provide backup for other areas within the department

Requirements

• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
• Payroll and/or bookkeeping experience preferred
• Must take and pass Farm Credit East's Payroll Specialist Accreditation program
