Position Overview
The Aspen Snowmass Ski & Snowboard School comprises a team of elite professionals dedicated to delivering outstanding experiences that foster personal growth. Our instructors excel not only in teaching but also in providing renowned services, building meaningful connections, and offering fresh perspectives. The Aspen Academy focuses on professional development, providing top-tier training that aligns with our commitment to excellence. Through this Academy, instructors can pursue comprehensive educational opportunities.
The Ski Instructor at Aspen Snowmass will provide alpine skiing lessons to individuals of all skill levels, emphasizing on-mountain safety and ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience on the snow.
- This role typically offers compensation ranging from $28.95 to $56.00 per hour, based on experience and lessons delivered.
- Applications for this position are accepted continuously.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors to organize classes and tailor instruction to meet individual student goals and abilities.
- Teach and demonstrate skiing techniques in a safe environment, utilizing diverse teaching methods.
- Conduct various lessons, including beginner instruction and advanced clinics.
- Provide exceptional customer service while prioritizing safety at all times.
- Work effectively both as part of a team and independently with groups of students.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience working with children is essential.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to ski and demonstrate techniques for up to 6 hours daily is required.
- Level 1 PSIA Certification or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
Supervision Structure
Supervision Given: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision Received: Works under the general guidance of the Ski & Snowboard School Coordinator or Manager, receiving ongoing or individual assignments as directed. Expectations regarding quality, quantity, and deadlines are clearly established, with instructions and support available as needed. Work is reviewed periodically or during scheduled evaluations.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend, or remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Regularly work in varying weather conditions, necessitating protective gear to mitigate exposure to the elements, and may involve navigating slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Must be capable of frequently lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs, either independently or with assistance.
