Associate Attorney

GPAC is seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney to join our team in the Chicago Loop. Our client is a well-established litigation firm with a strong focus on civil defense and insurance litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently handle substantive legal matters, including writing coverage opinions, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and preparing for trial.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently and effectively while meeting billable hour requirements.
  • Contribute to case strategy and participate in all phases of litigation.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience in civil litigation with a strong background in defense and insurance matters.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Portable business is a plus but not required or expected.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience and areas of practice expertise.
  • Discretionary bonus for meeting billable hour requirements (1900 hours annually).
  • Comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance and profit sharing.

  • Hybrid work environment with the option to work from home 2-3 days a week, following an initial 90-day in-office training period.
