Job Description

At UC Health, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing healing. As a Paramedic in our Emergency Department, you'll play a vital role in providing quality patient care and supporting our medical staff.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with patients and families in a compassionate and respectful manner.
  • Assist with patient care tasks, including vital signs, specimen collection, and wound irrigation.
  • Under the direction of a registered nurse, perform delegated patient care, including insertion of IVs, 12-lead EKGs, and phlebotomy.
  • Collect, report, and document patient observations and care.
  • Utilize specialized medical equipment, including monitors and EKG machines.
  • Assist with patient triage and decontamination procedures.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe patient care environment and adhering to hospital policies.
Requirements
  • Active Paramedic Certificate.
  • Awareness and Operations HazMat Training preferred.
  • CPI Training preferred.
  • Current Ohio EMT-P certification.
  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification at time of hire.
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) certification before end of Department Orientation.
  • PALS (American Heart Association) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • NRP (American Academy of Pediatrics) certification within 1 year of hire.

  • Serve as a role model for all members of the healthcare team, patients, family members, and visitors.
  • Promote efficient functioning of the department to enhance patient satisfaction.
