Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a CNA, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide basic, routine, and specialized tasks in assigned departments, including bathing, linen changes, bedpans, water pitchers, and assisting with ambulation, positioning, elimination, personal hygiene, and activities of daily living.
  • Supportive Care: Transport patients, transfer patients between stretcher and bed, and provide nourishments as requested and authorized by orders.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor and report changes in patient condition, symptoms, reactions, or behavior as appropriate, and participate in shift report.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and prepared work environment, including preparing patient areas for admissions, cleaning patient care equipment, and distributing supplies.
  • Documentation and Communication: Accurately record vital signs and nursing care procedures in the clinical record, and consistently display professionalism in interactions with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting or equivalent experience in an acute care setting.
  • Certifications: Current CNA certification and CPR certification.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, or completion of a certified nursing assistant or medical corpsman program.
