Responsibilities

As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing patient files and records, including allergies, problems, medications, and immunization status
  • Eliciting and recording information about patient medical history
  • Performing physical exams and ordering or executing various tests, analyses, and diagnostic imaging as needed
  • Analyzing results and exam findings to make appropriate diagnoses and administering or prescribing treatments
  • Discussing possible side effects of medication or immunization with patients and prescribing vaccinations to immunize patients from communicable diseases
  • Promoting health by advising patients about diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease
  • Performing procedures commensurate with training and referring patients to medical specialists for consultant services when appropriate
  • Documenting patient visits, including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action
  • Following up with patients regarding progress in high-risk or emergency cases
Requirements
  • Medical Degree (MD, DO)
  • Family medicine residency graduate and board certification/eligibility
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Basic computer skills
  • CA Medical License, DEA Certificate, and BLS certificate
