Position Overview

As a key member of Jackpocket's Fulfillment Technology Team, you will play a vital role in scaling our fulfillment systems as we launch new offerings and expand into additional markets. We seek a seasoned and collaborative engineer who can contribute strategically to critical initiatives aimed at enhancing and scaling Jackpocket's technological infrastructure amidst rapid business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with developers and Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) to ensure system stability and scalability.
  • Engage with the fulfillment operations team, retailers, and product teams to implement necessary requirements.
  • Document operational policies and procedures to facilitate troubleshooting efforts.
  • Contribute to the architectural advancement of the Jackpocket system.
  • Analyze systems to identify bottlenecks and predict system capacity needs.
  • Support local lottery fulfillment operations to guarantee optimal performance of live systems.
  • Lead the scoping and execution of significant features from inception to completion.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role focused on highly scalable systems.
  • Proficient in Elixir programming.
  • Experience with the complete lifecycle of design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Hands-on expertise with event-driven architectures such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
  • Strong proficiency in Liveview.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and familiarity with relational database management systems like Postgres.
  • Experience with multi-threading, concurrency, and the development of resilient systems.
  • Knowledge of functional programming and architectural design principles.
  • Able to diagnose issues in live systems and trace errors effectively.

This position is classified as full-time exempt and is not eligible for overtime under FLSA regulations.
