Position Overview:
The Nutritional Specialist is accountable for delivering comprehensive nutritional care, rehabilitation, and education tailored to patients' individual assessments, including their needs, conditions, impairments, disabilities, and age. Key responsibilities encompass evaluating nutritional health, formulating care strategies, instructing patients and their families, calculating dietary intakes, and designing specialized meal plans.
Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or a related discipline recognized by the American Dietetic Association (ADA) is essential.
Professional Experience:
Completion of a CADE-accredited supervised practice program within a healthcare setting, community organization, or foodservice entity, or a combination with undergraduate or graduate studies is required. Typically, such a program lasts between six (6) to twelve (12) months.
Technical Proficiencies:
Proficiency in computer applications is necessary.
Licensure and Certification:
Must possess a valid registration as a Registered Dietitian from the ADA. A current license as a Dietitian in the State of Nevada is also required. Specialty certifications (CDE, CNSD, CSP, CDR) may be necessary for specialized roles.
Additional Qualifications:
Candidates must exhibit the knowledge and skills essential to provide age-appropriate services for the patient population served in the designated unit or department.
