Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to provide support and care to our clients in a safe and healthy environment. As a Direct Support Professional, you will work on an interdisciplinary team to deliver superior quality of service and provide appropriate activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with basic living skills and daily personal tasks, including showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, and financial budgeting.
  • Provide transportation to and from activities and appointments as needed, requiring a valid Arkansas driver's license.
  • Maintain good communication with staff regarding client needs and progress toward their plan of care.
  • Accurately complete all documentation required by FCC, including behavioral reports, incident reports, and progress reports.
  • Follow proper medication management guidelines and assist in monitoring and documenting these procedures.
  • Organize and carry out recreational activities for clients.
  • Represent Friendship Community Care with dignity and respect at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, Senior Center Programs, and clients.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two+ years experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with state minimum liability insurance required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment

The work environment is moderate, with occasional exposure to noise and stress. Must be able to pass background checks/drug screen and maintain a clean driving record.
