Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents. As a Child Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health disorders in children and adolescents, including ADHD, depression, anxiety, and behavioral disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of children and adolescents to assess their mental health needs and formulate individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based psychiatric treatment, including medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions, to children and adolescents with mental health disorders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to ensure holistic and coordinated care for patients.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of patients through regular follow-up appointments and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and strategies for coping and managing symptoms.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Requirements
  • License from the VA State Board of Medicine.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration license to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Completion of an approved residency in General Psychiatry.
  • Experience with diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and individual and family therapy.
  • Experience in pharmacotherapy practice with emphasis on pediatric populations.
  • Board certification or Board eligible in Child Psychiatry.
