Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our pediatric care team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to our young patients in the Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, Pediatric General Floors, and Pediatric Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify respiratory care needs, and develop and implement treatment plans to address these needs.
  • Respiratory Care Procedures: Administer respiratory care procedures and modalities, including ventilation, oxygen therapy, and medication treatments, in accordance with established standards and policies.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of respiratory equipment, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques, disease management, and self-care.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with a minimum of an associate degree.
  • Licensure and Certification: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice, and active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Skills and Abilities: Effective organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, proficient computer skills, and excellent communication and listening skills.
