General Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the upkeep of Burke Center properties, which encompasses executing repairs and overseeing vendor-related maintenance activities. This role involves performing general maintenance tasks that do not necessitate a specialized license. Responsibilities include routine upkeep of facilities, encompassing both preventative and corrective measures; completing daily assignments efficiently and accurately; assessing repair requests, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs. Routine maintenance activities may include any tasks assigned to ensure our assets remain in optimal working condition and to minimize unexpected failures.
Educational Background
Required: Completion of an accredited high school program or equivalent.
Professional Experience
Required: A minimum of one (1) year of foundational knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Proficiency in using hand and power tools; capability to interpret technical manuals and schematics, along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
Licenses and Certifications
Required: A valid driver's license in Texas.
Preferred: Any certification that enhances the ability to perform maintenance tasks on facilities.
Special Considerations
Required: Must possess a driving record that meets the insurability criteria set by Burke's insurance provider.
Physical Demands
Required: Ability to see, hear, speak, lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, operate a vehicle, and demonstrate hand/finger dexterity to fulfill job responsibilities.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday; Typically, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with on-call duties as necessary.
Compensation
Salary is contingent upon qualifications and experience.
