Battaglia & DeKoning LLP is a reputable law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Associate Attorney to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced attorney to focus on matters related to Conservatorships, Estate Planning, Public Benefits Planning, and Estate Administration. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with Conservatorships, be able to work autonomously, and be seeking an integral role with opportunities to grow with our firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with clients to identify legal needs and concerns
  • Independently manage Conservatorship matters from start to finish, including preparing Petitions and making court appearances
  • Advise clients on issues regarding Conservatorships and Public Benefits Planning
  • Draft comprehensive estate plans, including Revocable Living Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, and property transfer documents
  • Participate in business social activities and presentations that generate new clients and professional relationships
  • Perform administrative functions related to case management
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice in California; Good standing with the State Bar
  • Demonstrated client relationship skills including the ability to lead in-person client meetings
  • Ability to conduct legal research, analyze case law, and stay up-to-date with changing laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Typing proficiency of 50+ wpm
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Conservatorships, Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Probate, Special Needs Trusts, and Public Benefits Planning
  • Experience with AbacusLaw software
  • Experience with Lawgic software
