The annual salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

As an urban classroom leader, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality instruction and ensuring student success. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing engaging lesson plans that reflect the LFDCS standards and benchmarks, aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
  • Teaching in a two-year looping organization to foster strong relationships and consistent progress monitoring
  • Managing classroom environments to promote sufficient instructional time, consistent discipline practices, and seamless integration with support and enrichment curriculum instruction
  • Completing comprehensive documentation of teaching programs and student progress, including daily and weekly lesson plans, student portfolios, and assessments to determine individual progress
  • Utilizing learning management systems and grade recording systems to post lesson plans and resources, input attendance and grades, and track student performance
  • Servicing as a supervisor for assigned paraprofessionals, delegating tasks and responsibilities commensurate with their experience and ability
  • Maintaining effective communication with parents to ensure a collaborative partnership in promoting student achievement
  • Supporting the school's dual language goals and participating in professional development initiatives to enhance your own practice
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education or a relevant subject area/grade level
  • MA certification in Early Childhood Education (PreK-2) and SEI endorsement (optional)
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in urban settings with Hispanic backgrounds
  • A commitment to education reform initiatives and raising educational equity for low-income and linguistic minority students
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
