Geotechnical EIT/Coordinator Role

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate field investigations and laboratory testing to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering to support design recommendations for bridge foundations, retaining walls, and earthen embankments for roadways, railroads, dams, and levees.
  • Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses for the vertical and lateral capacity of deep foundations, slope stability, and settlement analyses for roadway and railway embankments, dams, and levees.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and memos to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Observe construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Complete site reconnaissance to plan geotechnical investigations and identify potential risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Iowa transportation projects.
  • MSCE or ongoing coursework toward an MSCE.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred.
  • Local candidates preferred.
  • Experience with local geology (Nebraska/Iowa).
