Position Overview:
Fairview Health Services is seeking a Culinary Specialist for our Nutrition Department.
In this role, you will be tasked with the preparation and cooking of meals for patients, cafeteria services, and special events, utilizing standardized recipes and adhering to production standards.
As part of a collaborative team, you will ensure that meals are delivered to patients promptly, within 45 minutes of their order.
Work Schedule:
This position entails working 40-71 hours over a two-week period, with shifts lasting 8 hours during the day or evening. Weekend shifts will be required on alternate weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Culinary Specialist, your duties will include:
1. **Food Preparation**
- Preparing meals in accordance with standardized recipes and production guidelines.
- Organizing daily production tasks to align with meal service schedules.
2. **Food Service Management**
- Overseeing the preparation of food items required for hot entrees, sides, and bakery goods for cafeteria services, special functions, and patient meals.
Qualifications:
**Required Skills**
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in culinary arts within a restaurant or institutional setting.
- High School Diploma or GED.
**Special Skills**
- Proficient in understanding and executing both verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Adaptable to varying work routines and production requirements.
- Familiarity with food service operations and a solid understanding of dietary needs for patients.
- Must maintain a friendly and positive demeanor throughout the workday.
