About the Role

Umbra Cuscinetti Inc. is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team in a standard manufacturing environment. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling precision components and sub-assemblies used in aerospace and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble precision components and sub-assemblies according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Consult with management and/or others on process or job-related issues.
  • Obtain and analyze sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions of finished workpiece and sequence of operations.
  • Use correct tools to install assembly elements such as bushings, fasteners, components, heli-coil inserts, etc.
  • Check work after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure it is complete per drawing, that there are no defects, and that the area around job is clean prior to putting up for inspection.
  • Perform skilled assembly operations such as shimming, fitting, trimming and aligning.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or completion of manufacturing-related vocational training.
  • One to three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to draw, analyze and interpret data into graphical representations.
Work Environment

This position is in a standard manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical equipment. The noise levels in the work environment are frequently moderate to loud. Safety glasses and safety shoes are required throughout the shop floor and hearing protection is recommended, with the exception of certain manufacturing areas, which require hearing protection at all times.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb/balance/kneel, reach, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, with assistance. The employee may be required to work in loud environments. Employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment for extended periods of time.
