Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will assist in the performance of diagnostic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Review consultation requests and check for special instructions from requesting physicians.
- Consult with radiologists as necessary and complete all departmental processes for resulting and documentation of exams.
- Pleasantly greet patients, confirming their identification and introducing yourself.
- Explain examination procedures to patients and their families, if present.
- Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of all equipment located within the Nuclear Medicine department.
- Prepare, calibrate, document accurately, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for administration by injection, ingestion, and inhalation methods.
- Perform in vivo and in vitro diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures according to established protocols.
- Maintain a daily activities log and ensure appropriate storage and ordering of supplies for the Nuclear Medicine area.
- Monitor and report supplies in shortage and special order items.
- Perform visual preventive safety inspections and conduct daily quality assurance tests on all equipment.
- Identify any problems and communicate to the immediate supervisor.
- Evaluate recorded images for technical quality and demonstrate anatomy under investigation through proper positioning.
- Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to prescribed safety standards and effectively operate radiation detection equipment.
- Recognize emergency situations, initiate code procedures, and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
- Assure access to care and add on exams whenever possible, coordinating efforts with other departments.
- Verify correct order entry and supply charging.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) Nuclear Medicine Technology program or equivalent.
- Must complete Point of Care testing training as part of General Orientation.
Credentials
- BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
- ARRT-N OR CNMT Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Education
- Associates Degree in related field.
Compensation
USD $33.12/Hr. - USD $51.34/Hr.
